The ammunition bug is fixed; rookie protection has been reworked, and a second R&D layout and chat-to-group invites are now live.
This update brings a bug fix, reworked rookie protection, a second layout for your R&D and a small but handy shortcut in chat.
Ammunition Bug Fixed
The reported laser ammunition bug has been fixed.
Reworked Rookie Protection
Rookie protection now applies against all pilots, not just your own company, and works in two tiers based on level:
- Levels 1–5 (full protection): You cannot attack any pilot, and no pilot can attack you.
- Levels 6–9 (partial protection): As long as you don't attack, no one can attack you. The moment you attack a pilot, your protection drops and you can be attacked too; it returns once you have spent 10 minutes in-game without fighting another pilot.
- Partial protection does not apply on PvP maps, in enemy company territory, or to outlaw pilots.
- Level 10 and above: No rookie protection.
You will see a notice on screen whenever your protection drops or returns.
Second R&D: Two Layouts for PvP and PvE
Your R&D now has a second layout. Set one up for PvP and the other for PvE; whichever you activate is applied to your ship.
- R&D 1 is your main layout: points, files, isotope and credits are earned and spent there.
- Distributing in R&D 2 is free: your budget equals the points, isotope and credits you have invested in R&D 1, and you can spend it in R&D 2 however you like. The meters on the page show what you have left.
- Switching: use the ACTIVATE button on the Profile → R&D page, anywhere while out of combat. You cannot switch within 10 seconds of a fight, inside a gate, or while your ship is awaiting repair. There is a 60-second wait between switches.
- Resetting: the same Orbidium costs as R&D 1 apply, with a separate counter; reset tickets cannot be used on R&D 2. If you shrink R&D 1, R&D 2 goes over budget: your active layout switches back to R&D 1 automatically, and you can reset R&D 2 for free and redistribute.
- How to unlock: get the Second R&D package from Store → Premium & Subscription. It is a one-time, permanent purchase.
Group Invites from Chat
When you click the name of a pilot from your own company in chat, a private message channel opens and their name is also entered into the invite box of the group panel, so you can invite them to your group in one step.
